Meeting Minutes Approved from September Meeting
- A reminder that if you are on the board of the PTA you need to be a member
-
- Our first event, the Back to School BBQ was a success
-
- Thank you Clara for changing the sign
-
- We need a chairperson for the Dinner with Santa. Clara and Cathie volunteered to price and order pizza and salad and organize the 5th grade servers, and decorate the library for pictures with Santa. We have a Santa lined up.
-
- We need to start formulating a committee for the 5th grade luncheon. Rachel volunteered herself and Linda Plemenik for the position. It is imperative that we stay within our budget. Anything that goes over budget will NOT be reimbursed.
-
- We need to provide refreshments for the PTA council meeting January 17th.
-
- The Holiday Bazaar is on hold for a week or so while we wait to see if there is staff to run it. Mrs.Waters had the idea of holding a few craft nights, similar to craft club, only the kids could make items for their own families. She will know next week if this will work with her schedule. She would need parent volunteers in addition to the staff that has agreed to help her already.
- In September we had a net loss of $299.50
- We had an income of $12.50 from the Back to School BBQ but that will increase when we receive a check from the Dodge program (appprox $320)
- We collected $545 in dues during September. Membership dues have yet to be paid to the State PTA. We owe approximately $327, based on our 109 members.
- The Sturdy Fund has been depleted to $49.85. Carolyn Scott looked into the history of the Fund, and it was originally started in honor of Kay Sturdy, a former teacher at Sacandaga. The fund was started in 1954 and has always been funded by the PTA. There are no guidelines regarding how long the Fund should be maintained. The PTA voted to continue the scholarship.
- Proposed budget changes were made, leaving the total budget for programming at $5166.
- Parent conferences are in October this year so we can get good idea of the childrenÕs transition to their grade and get feedback from parents.
- The 19th of October is a staff Conference Day
- Third graders are going to ProctorÕs for the ESYO concert
- November 7th is the 4th and 5th grade chorus concert
- November 9th is the Early Dismissal drill and Lock Down drill
- 5th grade trip to Frost Valley in the Catskills was AWESOMEŃaccommodations were nice, it was easy to supervise. Probably a notch above the former camp in programming, and best of all, because of the time of year, there were no bugs.
Nothing to report at this time.
