Students from kindergarten to grade 5 at Sacandaga Elementary School have been learning how to bowl, a lifelong sport that can be done with families or groups. Below, students in Becky DiCaprio's grade 1 class and Arlene Camp's grade 4 class try their hands at tossing the ball down the lane. Teachers Barbara Wurz and Brett Campbell has been working with the students in physical education classes.

Wurz said she became interested in teaching bowling to students and, after going to the site http://www.bowlersed.com, connected with Boulevard Bowl in Schenectady. Boulevard Bowl provided 10 stations - consisting of the yellow "lane," 10 pins and a blue bowling ball for the students at Sacandaga. She also said her after-school intramural students in grades 4 and 5 hope to take a field trip to Boulevard Bowl later this year.
