Scotia-Glenville
to begin central registration of students
A long practice is coming to an end at Scotia-Glenville.
For years, each school registered its own students. Beginning on Jan.
28, students will be registered centrally, thereby ensuring consistent
entries in the district's student database.
The central registrar will register incoming kindergartners and new students
beginning Monday, Jan. 28. Kindergarten registration will conclude on
Feb. 15.
Parents should contact the central registrar at 382-5876 for a registration
appointment.
To register a kindergarten student, parents must provide the following:
• Student’s original birth certificate (from the Dept. of
Health and Vital Statistics);
• TWO forms of proofs of residency (see below).
To register a grades 1-12 student, parents must provide the following:
• Student’s original birth certificate (from the Dept. of
Health and Vital Statistics);
• TWO proofs of residency (see below);
• Child’s transcript, schedule and most recent report card
from his/her previous school;
• IEP (Individualized Education Program), if applicable;
• Custody papers, if applicable;
• Parent/guardian valid photo ID.
TWO proofs of residency: All proofs must be in parent’s/legal guardian’s
name, state home address and be currently dated. The proofs may include
a telephone bill, utility bill, tax bill, bank statement, payroll check
stub, income tax return, lease, rent receipt and/or report of Social Service
benefit information specifically stating the home address. If buying or
building a home, contact the registrar for acceptable proofs of residency.
