Betsy Williams, the nurse at Glendaal and a coordinator for this event, said the schools are hoping to have students walk simultaneously at all four elementary schools at about 2:15 p.m. Friday.
Because the middle and high schools are dismissed around 2:30 p.m., they will not participate at the same times as the elementary schools.
▪ The middle and high schools were involved with by selling the sneakers as mentioned above last week.
▪ High school students will walk on Thursday, May 10. at 2:45 p.m. The high school walk is sponsored by the school nurses, the Student Senate and SNAC club.

The Middle School Student Council is sponsoring a hat and iPod day on Friday to raise money for JDRF. For each dollar donation, students will be able to wear a hat and use an iPod. They will walk the track during the last half hour of the day on Friday.
The Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes is an educational school fundraising program that raises money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. While raising money for JDRF, students learn about diabetes and the importance of making healthy choices. The money raised through this program helps fund type 1 diabetes research.
