administrative changes announced for 2012-13 school year

April 4, 2012

Superintendent Susan Swartz has announced the first part of the administrative reorganization that will become effective July 1. Staff at Lincoln Elementary, Glen-Worden Elementary and the Middle School have been informed of their new principals.

John Geniti, the current athletic director and interim principal at Lincoln Elementary, will become the full-time Lincoln Elementary principal next year. He will give up his responsibilities as athletic director.

Mark McCarthy, a high school mathematics teacher and academic head of the math department, will become the full-time principal at Glen-Worden Elementary. He will give up his responsibilities as math academic head. Maureen Long, the district's director of instruction and curriculum, has also been serving as the Glen-Worden principal this year. She will return to her district-wide responsibilities.

Robert Cosmer, the current assistant principal at the high school, will become the middle school principal.
MS Principal Shari Keller retired in December. Since that time, Gary Comley, a retired administrator from Schenectady, has been serving as interim principal at the middle school.

The 2012-13 budget proposal reduces the number of district administrators from the current 18 to 16 next year. Two years ago, there were 20 administrators at Scotia-Glenville. Other administrative changes will be announced in the coming weeks.
