Gary Comley, the interim principal at the middle school, will be out of the office until mid-February. He succeeded Middle School Principal Shari Keller, who retired Dec. 31.
In his absence, several administrators will assume new responsibilities:
▪ Robert Cosmer, the current assistant principal at the high school, will assume Comley's duties as interim middle school principal.
▪ Thomas Fyvie, current dean of students at the high school, will assume Cosmer's duties as assistant high school principal.
▪ Anthony Peconie, a special education teacher at the high school, will assume Fyvie's duties as dean of students at the high school. Peconie served in that position during the 2010-11 school year while Fyvie served as assistant middle school principal.
Superintendent Susan Swartz said it was important that each position be held by an experienced individual. "We are fortunate that we have extremely capable people working at Scotia-Glenville who are willing to step up to new challenges," she said.
The Glen-Worden and Lincoln elementary school are currently headed by interim principals - Director of Curriculum and Instruction Maureen Long and Athletic Director John Geniti, respectively.
