Standard 1: Analysis,
Inquiry, and Design
Students will use
mathematical analysis, scientific inquiry, and engineering design, as
appropriate, to pose questions, seek answers, and develop solutions.

graphs and other representations of observations in conventional and creative
ways to help them address their research question or hypothesis

Students will access,
generate, process, and transfer information using appropriate technologies.

¤ Create and share a PowerPoint presentation
¤ Understand the purpose and use for a basic
spreadsheet.
¤ Be able to identify parts of the spreadsheet, cell,
row, and column.
¤ Be able to create, and then use data into a
spreadsheet using Excel.
¤ Be able to set-up formula for sum.
¤ Be able to create a chart using Excel
Procedures
Have students collect data
based on information from websites.
Class will meet in computer
lab 5-6 class periods, introduce lesson in first class
Give students activity
directions
Circulate to observe and
answer any questions
Students will present a
completed PowerPoint presentation.
They will also complete an Excel Chart depicting results from a data
table collected from a class poll.

and access to Internet
