Mr. Calhoun's class completed the following lesson in the Middle school computer lab. It was a fun way to become familiar with PowerPoint, Excel and discern information from Internet data sites. The project began with a discussion of the ancient 7 Wonders of the World. Mr. Calhoun then revealed there was an exciting worldwide project that would be changing history. The project involved NEW Seven Wonders of the world. The class wanted to be a part of it. The project would be two-part, involving the Internet, PowerPoint and Excel.

The first portion of the lesson began with the students going to www.newsevenwonders.com.  They explored what the new seven Wonder of the Worlds options were and then they chose the one that they liked best.  The students then copied and pasted three fact's about their favorite "Wonder" into a PowerPoint document. The next step was to visit www.worldatlas.com and find five facts about their chosen wonder's country.  They used the facts they had collected, pictures and maps from the two websites to create and share their presentations.
