This was more than just baking some cookies to eat.
The 19 grade 8 students in Cheryl Miller's Home and Career Skills class today showed off the results of their Entrepreneurship - Cookie Project marketing plans.
They created an imaginary cookie company with a unique name and a marketing plan that would be memorable and convince buyers to purchase the cookies. They developed attractive packaging for their products.
Their companies were called "Cookies R Us," "Gracies Galletas," "Kelsey's Kookies" and "Biggie Snaps." Their creations were Archway Filled Cookies, Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, Sugar Cookies and Ginger Snaps.
They had a variety of marketing techniques designed to sell cookies and make their efforts memorable to the cookie public: attractive packaging with ribbons; bulk sales, like six cookies in a bag for $2 in a bag; posters; and yellow "GG" (Gracie's Galletas) pins.
Students in Elaine McCain's Home and Career Skills class will also demonstrate their projects on Wednesday, April 4.
