THE SCOTIA-GLENVILLE HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENTAL AWARD - MEDAL - Given to a member of the graduating class in each of the disciplines.  The recipient must have completed a sequence in the subject, excelled academically, demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm which is indicative of continued interest and success in the field.

THE MIKE MORTENSEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD Ð $250.00 - Open to the senior who will attend a 4 year college and will participate in inter-collegiate athletics in at least the Division III Level and who has a GPA of 85% or higher.

ALMA MCNEIL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000.00 - Open to a senior planning to attend a two (2) year college or post-high school vocational training who has demonstrated qualities of good citizenship, friendliness, and school spirit as evidenced by involvement in extra-curricular activities.  Presented by the Scotia-Glenville TeachersÕ Association.  Amanda Burns

 

LESLIE KENNEY SCHOLARSHIP AWARD - $l,500.00 - Open to a senior planning teaching as a career who has demonstrated leadership qualities, character, and personality suitable for the profession.  Presented by the Scotia-Glenville TeachersÕ Association.

DIGNITY FOR ALL AWARD - $200.00  - Open to a senior in recognition of his or her work to create an atmosphere in which gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender students and their straight allies may obtain an education free from discrimination, harassment, violence and abuse.  Ashley Cotton

 

THE GARY CHRISTOPHER SMITH MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $250.00 Ð To a senior who graduated from Glendaal Elementary School.  The student should have good scholastic achievement and been very involved in athletics and student affairs.  The recipient should be a person who is respectful of others, is a team player, and is one who has a good sense of humor and has a balanced perspective on life.  Stephen Rosemarino

THE ROBERT MATTESON, JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Ð $250.00 - Open to a graduating senior planning on pursuing a degree in science or engineering, who has demonstrated a caring personality through community involvement, while maintaining an excellent level of academic performance. Richard Hall

LINCOLN SCHOOL PTA SCHOLARSHIP - $400.00 - Open to seniors who attended Lincoln School, in consideration of outstanding personal qualities and fine scholarship, felt to be most in keeping with the ideals set forth as a teacher by Dorothy C. Burbank.  Anthony Gatta

 

CAROLYN GERDIN SCHOLARSHIP Ð $400.00 - Open to a graduating senior who attended Lincoln School.  The student must be focused on volunteerism and community involvement; have good scholastic achievement and plan on attending a post secondary institution.   Priscilla Bandy

THE MR. ÒKÓ TEACHER EDUCATION AWARD -$500.00 Ð In memory of Robert H. Korthas, ÒMr. KÓ, who was a teacher at Scotia-Glenville for 38 years, 35 of which were spent at Sacandaga Elementary School.  Open to a graduate of Sacandaga School who intends to pursue a teaching degree.  Savhannah Hichman

THE SCHOOL ALLIANCE OF SUBSTITUTES IN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000.00 - Awarded annually by a committee of non-teaching personnel, to a senior planning on a college career who exemplifies the attributes of the good school citizen.  Amanda Burns

 

THE SCOTIA-GLENVILLE SECRETARIAL ASSOCIATION AWARD - $400.00 (2)  - In memory of all former district secretaries to graduating senior in the Business Education Program who performs his or her duties in a trustworthy manner, possesses a sense of humor, and is able to get along with others.  These students should be planning to attend a post-secondary course of study in business education, secretarial science or word processing field.  Brian Risley, James Kehoe

THE KAREN L. HORNICHEK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $150.00 - Presented in memory of Ms. Karen L. Hornichek, Business Education Department Chairperson 1988-1997, to a graduating senior who has demonstrated academic achievement in the Business Education program, who shows high standards of conduct, dress, and manners, who is interested and involved in community and church activities, and who shares the same strong commitment to helping others as demonstrated by this devoted teacher.  Carolyn Laskoski

 

THE SUSAN BETH EIDENS-DOEBLER SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000.00 - To a senior who has demonstrated sound scholastic aptitude and achievement; the qualities of integrity and outstanding citizenship; is a giver, rather than a taker; has an open mind and works well with others and has a zest for living.   The recipient must be planning to devote his/her career to the field of medical sciences.  Molly McCann
