PTA MEETING MINUTES

November 13, 2007

Call to Order                                                                                                           


Meeting called to order by President Sharon M. Sharrow at 7:05 pm, 15 people in attendance.

 

OFFICERÕS REPORTS

Recording Secretary

Motion and second to accept September minutes Steven Winters-Bona and Pat Zeman.

Treasurer Report

Motion and second to amend budget Pat Zeman and Nancy Adis.

Increase in Arts in Education and Artists in Residence to cover expenses for artists. (See budget lines C36 and C42 for explanation)

Fall Festival made $500.00

Fall Fundraiser made $2,400 net.

Paid $80.00 to cover Odyssey of the Mind expense.

Vice President-Programs

TWO-a juggling group will be here in early Dec.

Spring programs will be finalized soon.

K-2 will have a Star lab, a 30 minute presentation on the stars.

Pinocchio will be coming in March.

In April, Brien Engel will be here to play a glass harp.

Corresponding Secretary

Sympathy Card was sent to Mr. Francois.


 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Book Fair

Done, made $2,000.00 profit. Sold 7,000 books.

Silver Graphics

In works, prices approved, display case reserved. After holidays will start.

Campbell Soup

Going well.

Banking                                                        

In lobby.

PTA Newsletter

Photos appreciated.

Looking for more school generated articles.

Fall Festival

Went well, pumpkins were nice.

Wonderful donations.

Made over $500.00.

PTA Membership

2 more to add, to $278.00 total

Will re-do PTA name board.

Family Fun

Ice skating 1/11/08 or 1/18/08. This is a Friday night, 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Need $50.00 to hold event.

Update Web page on new members.

Minutes are online.

Successful Summer Reading Challenge.

Book Picnic will be in February.

Would like to sponsor programs on Internet safety for parents.

 

BOARD REPORT

Next meeting at Middle School on 11/19.

Will discuss status of technology in our district.

Will review building projects.

Will recognize staff at reception for teachers attaining tenure.

PRINCIPALS REPORT

PTA does a lot for G-W, thank you.

Teachers would prefer donations instead of Christmas gifts.

 

NEW BUSINESS

Odyssey of the Mind expenses discussed by Mrs. Radom.
