Welcome
to Glen-Worden! My name is Jim Dunham, and I have the pleasure
of being the Principal at the Glen-Worden Elementary School.
Glen-Worden
Elementary is a small K-5 elementary school, teaching students
from parts of the Town of Glenville and the Village of Scotia.
We are one of four elementary schools in the Scotia-Glenville
School District, currently serving approximately 300 students
in Kindergarten through Fifth grade.
The
staff and parents work together to support students, and challenge
them to stretch themselves in many ways. We are proud of our high
quality academic programs, and strive to focus on the needs of
the total child. We have an excellent and committed staff, along
with a vibrant and involved PTA.
One
of our interesting and exciting traditions is our intergenerational
program. This was one of the reasons that the Town of Glenville
Senior Center was built right next door to our school. We are
frequent visitors and performers there, and we also maintain a
close relationship with the nearby Baptist Retirement Center and
its residents.
I
invite you to navigate our web site and grow to understand our
commitment to supporting our students. This web site is a product
of the collaborative efforts of various staff and students. I
hope that you might begin to feel the welcome and warmth that
you would feel walking into our school.
