Give Credit Where Credit Is Due: Making A Bibliography

A bibliography is one way to give credit to your sources of information. Follow these examples when creating a bibliography for a book, encyclopedia or dictionary, Internet, magazine/newspaper, interview, CD, or video/DVD,

Book with One Author

Information Needed for a Book with One Author:

author's last name, author's first name.

title city of publication:

publisher, copyright date.

Example of a Book Bibliography:

Lepthien, Emilie M. Chimpanzees.

Chicago: Children's Press,

1982.

Book or Pamphlet with Two Authors

 

Information Needed for a Book with Two Authors:

first author's last name, author's first

name, and second author's

first name then last name.

title. city of publication:

publisher, copyright date.

 

Example of a Book Bibliography with Two Authors:

Duelle, Sue M., and Ken Smith.

Endangered Animals. New York:

Dutton, 1987.

 

Encyclopedia or Dictionary

 

Information Needed for Encyclopedia with an Author:

author's last name, author's first name.

"title of the article in

quotes." name of the

encyclopedia. year of the
