Art Department News

High School art students of Mrs. DiCocco's competed in the Olympics of the Visual Arts recently in Saratoga Springs. We had four teams compete: in photography Troy Gapczinski and Anastasia Olsen; Fashion category-Sakeena Nazir and Alexis Webb; Illustration-Shailee Patel and Erika Rodbell; Painting-Patricia Haffner, Samantha Musto, Alison Parker, Raven Earls. The Illustration team came were first place winners in the Illustration category. Congratulations to all of our students!

Congratulations to the following High School students of Mrs. DiCocco who participated in the Media Arts Festival at Niskayuna High School on March 22. Noel Frascatore, Courtney Fuller, Troy Gapzcynski, Colter Carlsted, Ian Gates, Emily Gaugney, Miranda Gilgore, Kenny Mears, Giuliana Painter, Erika Rodbell, and Joanne Ruan. A special recognition goes to Matt Ardell for placing first in the color photography category and Giuliana Painter for placing 3rd overall in the black and white category.

Congratulations to Kimberly Connelly and Monica Compton who have art work on display in the Regional Art Show. Their art work was juried and selected to be part of the Regional Art Show. Kimberly Connelly's piece is a flag pole and Monica Compton did a still life. The reception will be held on March 2 at the Esther Massry Gallery at the College of St. Rose from 5-7 PM.

The following students have art work on display in the BOCES Student Art Show: Syndney Obman, Ryan Freihofer, Erin Turner, Shelby McNamara, Logan Perualt, Annika Neilson, Kevin Rowland, Jordan Iannotti, Ryan Forth, Anna Brown, Asia Winney, Christopher Berg, Kayla Seguin, Tori Bulford, Alexandria Polsinelli, Lily Becker, Kelsey Jessup, Alexis Zatlokowicz, Candence Trapini, Laura Cernik, Rachel Hotte, Monica Compton, Rosaire Benaquista, Joanne Ruan and Lance Andrako. The opening reception was 4/16 and all art work will be on display until May 25. Congratulations to our students!
