• To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation

The Objectives of the PTA

• To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship

• To raise the standards of home life

• To secure adequate laws for the care of protection of children and youth

• To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth

• To develop, between educators and the general public,
such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth, the highest
advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education

PTA Membership

You may think as a member of the PTA, you just organize carpools and chaperone field trips. But by being a member, you do much more. While making sure they stay quiet in the back seat, your voice is being heard on all the issues that affect your kids. Kids and violence. Kids and TV. And of course, kids and education.
Just by belonging to your local PTA, you're doing much more than car pooling.

The PTA Council consists of representatives from the six PTAs at Scotia-Glenville.
