Tartan Youth Lacrosse
Season: Mid-April to the end of June
Costs: $95 per player, with a discount for families
who have multiple players
in the program. $35 sticks
fee (grades K-2)
K-2: Sticks only. This is a non-contact beginning program which
teaches fundamental stick skills and basics of the game. No games
and no travel.
3-4: Beginning full equipment Lacrosse. At this level, stick
checking is permitted but no body contact. Players will learn basic
skills of the game as well as offense and defense. 7 on 7 games on a
reduced field.
5-6: Continuation of skills instruction at this level. Full
equipment, full field, 10 on 10 games with limited contact.
7-8: Limited body contact on regulation teams and fields.
Tartan Youth Lacrosse is a member of the Capital District Youth
Lacrosse League and U.S. Lacrosse. Teams will play home and away
games at various sites around the area. A 10 game schedule with an
end of the year tournament (3 games) is included.

Tartan Basketball Club
The Tartan Basketball Club provides a variety of opportunities for
students enrolled in Scotia-Glenville schools to play basketball.
The primary season for Tartan Basketball is winter. The In-House
Recreational League runs from November to February and is open to
boys and girls in grades 1-6. The Winter Travel Teams compete in the
Capital District Youth Basketball League which runs from November to
March. There are six travel teams: boys, grades 4/5, 6, 7 and 8;
girls-combined grades 4, 5 and 6 and combined grades 7 and 8; The
Spring Travel Season runs through April and May. The Tartan
Basketball Club presently sponsors three Spring Travel Teams: boys
Junior High; boys JV; and boys varsity.

Highland Soccer Club
The Highland Soccer Club offers a variety of competitive and
developmental soccer experiences for boys and girls ages 5-19 living
in Scotia and Glenville.
Recreation Soccer: More than 600 boys and girls, from kindergarten
through 8th grade, participate in the fall program, which has a
seven game season beginning in late September and ending in early
November. More than 300 boys and girls participate in a similar
program in the spring. The players are grouped by age and play other
teams in their age division.
TOP Soccer: Every spring and fall, Highland Soccer Club participate
in T.O.P. Soccer, a soccer program for children with developmental
disabilities or physical challenges. Registration for this program
is open to children who reside anywhere in the Capital District.
Travel Soccer: Highland Soccer Club is a member of the Capital
District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL), which sponsors competitive
soccer for youth throughout the greater Capital District. Travel
Soccer teams range in age from under 8 to under 19. Highland Soccer
Club usually fields one or two teams at each age level. The playing
season for travel is late April to late June. Travel teams practice,
and often play competitively, at indoor venues during the winter.
Because there are a limited number of places on each team, tryouts
for travel teams are held each fall.
Highland Soccer Club also sponsors a tournament for travel teams in
the spring. The club runs a one-week summer camp, evenings, usually
in July. The club also sponsors clinics and licensing courses for
its coaches.

Pop Warner Football and
Cheerleading
Season: Fall – August 1 to Mid-November
Cost: Player/Cheerleader, $75; Each additional child, $30; Flag, $35
Flag Program: open to all children between the ages of 5 and 7. This
program is designed to teach the fundamentals of football without
contact and to prepare the child for the tackle program.
Tackle Program: open to all children between the ages of 7 and 13.
Children are placed according to age and weight. This is a full
contact football league where safety always comes first.
Cheerleading: open to all children between the ages of 5 and 12. The
fundamentals of cheerleading are taught.

Lady Tartans Field Hockey Club
The Lady Tartans Field
Hockey Club Youth Program provides both technical and tactical
training for youth players in a fun, game-oriented atmosphere for
girls ages 7-13.
That every athlete will flourish is symbolized in our logo with the
Latin phrase “DEI SVB NVMINE VIGET”, meaning, “Under God’s light she
flourishes”. Our commitment is provide a venue for a youth program,
developing young athletes and to create, nourish and develop a love
and enthusiasm for sports and fitness by advancing the values of
participation, and educating and developing athletic skills through
field hockey.
Located at Meadows Field in Collins Park, Scotia.
What to bring: Soccer shoes for grass, sun
screen, shin guards, mouthguard, rain gear, bug spray, goggles or
protective eyewear and a water bottle are suggested for all
attendees.

SGS Rowing Association provides a unique team
sport experience for student athletes. Crew combines a love for the
outdoors, exercise, and sports competition. Student athletes from
Scotia-Glenville, Schenectady, and Guilderland comprise our 75+
membership and we are still growing. SGSRA’s modified program is
open to all 7th and 8th graders.
The high school program is comprised of novice (new), freshman
(modified “graduates”), and varsity rowers. Any interested high
school student may join as there are no tryouts. Our goal is to
provide an opportunity for the rowers to challenge themselves, each
other as they work together, and have fun, too!
Competitions are held locally on the Mohawk River and Fish Creek in
Saratoga. The High School team has traveled to Boston, Rochester,
and Canada to name a few locations. There is generally 1-2 away
races per season. Spring season begins for high school mid- February
through the beginning of July. The modified season begins on March
6. The fall season is from the end of August to the beginning of
