Pamela S. Carbone, of 20 Vista Drive, is seeking a sixth three-year
term.
She is the current Board of Education president, having been
elected to that office in 2009 and 2010.
Carbone is a science teacher at the Success Academy for Middle
School Students, a program for at-risk students in the Schenectady
City School District.
She holds a bachelor’s in math and physics from Transylvania
University and a master’s in physics from Wright State University.
A 26-year S-G resident, she was active for years in several PTAs.
Carbone is a former president of the Capital District School
Boards Association. She has served on several committees for the
New York State School Boards Association.
Her son, Drew, graduated from the high school in 2002. She has two
grandchildren who attend Lincoln Elementary School.
